Build a Smarter Home with eero PoE 7: Wi-Fi 7, True 10G and Smart Home Connectivity

Today's home network does much more than connect our phones and laptops.
Smart TVs, security cameras, doorbells, lighting, sensors, smart locks, appliances and other connected devices are becoming part of everyday life. As the number of connected devices increases, homeowners need a network that can deliver speed, coverage and reliable connectivity throughout the home.
That's where the eero PoE 7 comes in.
Combining Wi-Fi 7, dual 10GbE connectivity, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and smart-home capabilities, eero PoE 7 provides a powerful foundation for today's connected home — while giving homeowners room to grow as new devices and technologies are added.
One Network at the Heart of Your Smart Home
One of the biggest advantages of eero is that it isn't designed only to provide Wi-Fi. eero PoE 7 includes support for Matter, Thread and Zigbee, allowing compatible smart-home devices to work alongside your Wi-Fi-connected devices as part of a more integrated connected-home environment.
What does this mean for homeowners?
Instead of thinking about Wi-Fi and smart-home connectivity as completely separate parts of your renovation, eero can become part of the connectivity foundation on which your connected home is built.

True 10G — From Your Router to Your Access Points
As Singapore households move towards 10G broadband, the speed of your internet plan is only one part of the equation.
To make the most of a 10G connection, the network inside your home also needs to be ready for those speeds. If the connection between your router, switch and access points is limited by slower network ports, it can become a bottleneck before that bandwidth ever reaches your devices.
Each eero PoE 7 features one 10GbE PoE+ port and one 10GbE port. Pair it with the Peplink PLS-8-10G-720W 10G PoE switch, with eight 10G Ethernet ports and four 10G SFP+ uplinks, and you can build a high-speed wired backbone throughout the home.
The result is true 10G connectivity from your router to your switch and onwards to your access points, giving your Wi-Fi 7 network a high-speed wired foundation instead of restricting it with traditional 1G backhaul.

Parental Controls That Work Around Your Family
A great home network isn't only about speed — it's also about giving parents more control over when and how their children use the internet.
With eero Profiles, parents can group a child's connected devices under a single profile. So instead of managing their phone, tablet, laptop or other devices individually, internet access can be managed together from the eero app.

Parents can create internet schedules, set regular offline periods or pause internet access when it's time for homework, family time or bed. For example, if your child uses a tablet, phone and laptop, all three devices can be assigned to the same profile and follow the same internet schedule.
Wi-Fi 7 for Today's Connected Family
The eero PoE 7 is a Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 access point operating across 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz. Each unit supports more than 200 connected devices and up to approximately 2,000 sq. ft. / 190m² of indoor coverage. And because the system is scalable, additional eero access points can be positioned around the property where coverage is actually needed.

Designed for HDBs, Condominiums and Landed Homes
Every home is different. A 4-room HDB does not have the same networking requirements as a three-storey landed property, which is why AP placement matters.
With multiple APs connected through wired backhaul, homeowners can have Wi-Fi coverage distributed throughout the property

Clean PoE Installation
There is another advantage that's particularly relevant when renovating a home: Power over Ethernet. Instead of requiring separate Ethernet and power connections at every AP location, eero PoE 7 can receive power and network connectivity through its PoE+ Ethernet connection. This makes it possible to plan AP locations during renovation and install them neatly on walls or ceilings.
For homeowners working with an interior designer, electrician or smart-home installer, the network can therefore be considered during the renovation planning stage, rather than trying to solve Wi-Fi dead zones after the renovation is complete.

Manage Your Home Network From the eero App
Despite everything happening behind the scenes, homeowners shouldn't need to be network engineers. The eero app provides a central place to set up and manage the network, including connected devices and network settings. You can see what's connected, manage network settings, create profiles and control access without having to work through a complicated traditional router interface.
That combination of powerful infrastructure underneath and simple management on top is particularly attractive for a connected home.
