# Building a Complete WiFi 7 Business Network with NETGEAR

**By Imah Mohamad** · 2026-10-01

WiFi 7 is here. But upgrading a business to WiFi 7 isn't simply about replacing an old access point with a new one.

Behind every good wireless network is the infrastructure that connects it, powers it, segments it and keeps it manageable.

For SMEs looking for a straightforward network—and for resellers looking for a solution they can confidently propose to their customers—NETGEAR offers an interesting combination:

The idea is simple:

**[PR60X](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-10g-multi-gigabit-dual-wan-pro-router-with-insight-cloud-management?_pos=1&_sid=2da25f08f&_ss=r)[](PR60X-100UKS) — Route and secure it**
**[GS724TP](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-gs724tp-24-port-gigabit-ethernet-smart-managed-pro-poe-switch-with-24-x-poe-190w?_pos=1&_sid=6ddd05a6d&_ss=r) — Connect and power it**
**[WBE710](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-wbe710-cloud-managed-wifi-7-access-point-be9400?_pos=1&_sid=27da3601f&_ss=r) — Bring WiFi 7 to it**
**NETGEAR Insight — Manage it**

Let's take a closer look at how these pieces work together.

### **Start with the Gateway: [NETGEAR PR60X](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-10g-multi-gigabit-dual-wan-pro-router-with-insight-cloud-management?_pos=1&_sid=35a9e2eab&_ss=r)**

Every business network starts with its connection to the Internet. Sitting at the edge of our proposed network is the **[NETGEAR PR60X Pro Router](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-10g-multi-gigabit-dual-wan-pro-router-with-insight-cloud-management?_pos=1&_sid=35a9e2eab&_ss=r).** The [PR60X](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-10g-multi-gigabit-dual-wan-pro-router-with-insight-cloud-management?_pos=1&_sid=1ae4fe024&_ss=r) isn't just there to provide Internet access. It supports dual WAN with failover and load balancing, up to 32 VLANs and 32 DHCP servers, as well as VPN options including IPSec, OpenVPN and WireGuard. This becomes particularly useful when we want to separate different types of users and devices.

For example, a small business could have:

- **VLAN 10 — Corporate**
- **VLAN 20 — Guest WiFi**
- **VLAN 30 — IoT / Devices**

Instead of putting employees, visitors, printers, cameras and other connected devices onto one flat network, the [PR60X](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-10g-multi-gigabit-dual-wan-pro-router-with-insight-cloud-management?_pos=1&_sid=1ae4fe024&_ss=r) gives us the ability to build a more structured network from the start.

The [PR60X](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-10g-multi-gigabit-dual-wan-pro-router-with-insight-cloud-management?_pos=1&_sid=1ae4fe024&_ss=r) also brings something important to this solution: NETGEAR Insight remote/cloud management. The router can be registered, configured, managed and monitored through the Insight mobile app or web portal.

### **Connect and Power the Network: [NETGEAR GS724TP](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-gs724tp-24-port-gigabit-ethernet-smart-managed-pro-poe-switch-with-24-x-poe-190w?_pos=1&_sid=39bc46952&_ss=r)**

**Next comes the switching layer.**

For this solution, we're using the [**NETGEAR GS724TP Smart Managed PoE+ Switch**](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-gs724tp-24-port-gigabit-ethernet-smart-managed-pro-poe-switch-with-24-x-poe-190w?_pos=1&_sid=d87c43dc8&_ss=r). It provides **24 Gigabit PoE+ ports**, two dedicated Gigabit SFP uplinks and a total PoE budget of **190W**. This means the same switch can connect and power devices such as wireless access points, IP cameras and VoIP phones, while also connecting PCs, printers, NAS and other wired equipment.

For our [WBE710](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-wbe710-cloud-managed-wifi-7-access-point-be9400?_pos=1&_sid=a54554954&_ss=r) deployment, PoE+ is particularly important. Rather than installing a separate power adaptor near each access point, a single Ethernet cable can carry both network connectivity and power from the [GS724TP](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-gs724tp-24-port-gigabit-ethernet-smart-managed-pro-poe-switch-with-24-x-poe-190w?_pos=1&_sid=613059e02&_ss=r) to the WBE710. And because this is a managed switch, we're not limited to basic connectivity.

The [GS724TP](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-gs724tp-24-port-gigabit-ethernet-smart-managed-pro-poe-switch-with-24-x-poe-190w?_pos=1&_sid=613059e02&_ss=r) provides capabilities including VLANs, ACLs, QoS, IGMP Snooping and Querier, and advanced per-port PoE controls. This gives the system integrators considerably more control over how the customer's network is designed.

### **Now Add WiFi 7: [NETGEAR WBE710](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-wbe710-cloud-managed-wifi-7-access-point-be9400?_pos=1&_sid=59efd1fde&_ss=r)**

This is where WiFi 7 enters the picture.

The [**NETGEAR WBE710**](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-wbe710-cloud-managed-wifi-7-access-point-be9400?_pos=1&_sid=59efd1fde&_ss=r) is a tri-band WiFi 7 access point operating across the **2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands**, with an aggregate theoretical wireless throughput of up to **9.4Gbps**.

It also supports WiFi 7 technologies including **Multi-Link Operation (MLO), 4K QAM and 320MHz channel width operation in the 6GHz band**.

Why does this matter?

Think about what connects to WiFi in a business today. It isn't just a few laptops anymore. There can be smartphones, tablets, notebooks, meeting-room systems, printers, IoT devices and guest devices all competing for wireless connectivity.

The [WBE710](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-wbe710-cloud-managed-wifi-7-access-point-be9400?_pos=1&_sid=a54554954&_ss=r) is designed for these higher-density environments, with NETGEAR specifically identifying environments such as schools, hotels, restaurants and conference centres as suitable applications.

### **Where Does NETGEAR Insight Fit?**

This is where the solution becomes more interesting.

**NETGEAR Insight doesn't sit between the router and the switch. It sits above the network as the management layer.**

Conceptually, our solution looks like this:

![](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0571/8946/6289/files/netgear-blog-2_497d5c76-69d2-433e-912a-4ebc2d293e0a.jpg?v=1790839117)Insight allows supported NETGEAR devices to be remotely configured, monitored and managed through the Insight app or Cloud Portal.

For example, Insight provides capabilities including remote monitoring, performance dashboards, alerts, firmware management and zero-touch provisioning. It can also provide a single-pane-of-glass view across multiple devices, networks and sites.

The [GS724TP](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-gs724tp-24-port-gigabit-ethernet-smart-managed-pro-poe-switch-with-24-x-poe-190w?_pos=1&_sid=613059e02&_ss=r) also supports Insight cloud management, including remote troubleshooting, firmware updates and even remote control of PoE ports. This can be particularly useful.

Imagine a customer's wireless access point stops responding. Instead of immediately travelling to site just to physically power-cycle the AP, an administrator may be able to remotely power-cycle the relevant PoE port through Insight.

For a system integrator supporting multiple customers, that changes the conversation from **simply selling networking hardware to potentially managing the customer's network.**

### **One Network, Multiple Users**

Let's put this into a practical scenario.

Imagine a customer moving into a new office. They require Internet connectivity for employees, WiFi for visitors, several IP cameras, printers and perhaps a few other IoT devices. Rather than placing everything onto one network, the system integrator could design separate VLANs for different purposes:

![](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0571/8946/6289/files/netgear-blog-3_e625ac7b-583a-49da-9af1-7918ab8f1fdc.jpg?v=1790839083)

The [PR60X](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-10g-multi-gigabit-dual-wan-pro-router-with-insight-cloud-management?_pos=1&_sid=8b5fa5e23&_ss=r) provides the routing and network segmentation capability, the [GS724TP](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-gs724tp-24-port-gigabit-ethernet-smart-managed-pro-poe-switch-with-24-x-poe-190w?_pos=1&_sid=39bc46952&_ss=r) carries the VLANs across the wired infrastructure, and the [WBE710](https://kairaglobal.com/products/netgear-wbe710-cloud-managed-wifi-7-access-point-be9400?_pos=1&_sid=f212a20c8&_ss=r) supports VLANs and multiple SSIDs for the wireless network. The WBE710 supports up to eight SSIDs as well as Dynamic VLAN and VLAN functionality.

And Insight gives the administrator a central platform from which to manage the supported NETGEAR infrastructure.

### **For System Integrators: Don't Start with “How Many APs?”**

When a customer says:
**“I need better WiFi.”**

It can be tempting to immediately ask:
**“How many access points do you need?”**

But perhaps the better conversation starts with:
**“Tell us about your network.”**

How many users are there? How many devices? What Internet bandwidth are they subscribing to? Do they need guest WiFi? Are there IP cameras or VoIP phones? Do they need separate networks for employees and guests? Do they have more than one office? Who will manage the network after installation?

Those answers determine much more than the number of access points.

They determine the **network design.**

### **A Practical Starting Point for WiFi 7**

Not every SME needs a large enterprise network. For many smaller environments, the objective is much simpler: good connectivity, proper network segmentation, PoE for wireless devices, modern WiFi and an easier way to manage everything.

That's where this combination becomes interesting:
